How much porting does your UL have, what's your operating pressure and fps over a chrono?

well...what do you consider "louder" than?
Try regreasing the reg and see if that helps.

What's your dwell setting? I'd assume that with an L7, you would have dropped it. Having it lower with the same amount of pressure might make it SEEM to be louder due to more of a POP noise instead of a BANG.
I would regrease your bolt assembly on top of the regulator to see if you can get that any smoother, but sometimes quieter just isn't in the cards when you go for efficiency... especially if you start changing things that alter the flow of air from stock (like an L7, much lighter and moves faster).

odd, i run a l7 and virtue board, and at 110 psi, and its as quiet as any E-pnue out there.
raise your psi and drop your dwell maybe? other than than, its already been said. grease your reg and bolt, maybe your solenoid if you dont have a QEV

Since no one else brought it up......
Are you dry firing it? Because a dry fire is always louder than with paint.........

I just fired my mini vs my ion, Mini is stock, ion is upped on everything.. Mini is 2x's quieter than the ion during dry fire. I think the ion is just a louder spoolie. Its quieter than Tippmanns, Spyders, and Clones, but i think you get what you get =\
One of the odd things with a Ion is, no 2 seem to be exact. outside of putting in a quick exaust valve and a bolt like the l7, im at a loss as to how help, beside the said stated things
