I think some how-to's and tutorials for rechargeable hopper mods are in order.

Many of us are hating the idea of always tearing hoppers apart to swap them out. How about some tutorials on "how to" on-board recharge the following hoppers:

Halo
Halo B
V35 Halo
Reloader
Reloader B
9V and 12V Revvi
Egg
DXS Pulse
VLocity & Jr.
Torque
Magna

???? Please????

It's not as simple as you would think. You need a charging circuit with some smarts if you want your batteries to be properly cycled. At work we design with BQ series ICs from Texas Instruments. All surface mount stuff... not really DIY.

My solution to you would be to get a NIMH battery pack that physically fits.

And a charger

And a panel-mount barrel socket and matching plug from Radio Shack.

Wire the socket in parallel with the battery pack. You simply just need to plug in the charger when the battery pack dies. The load should not need to be isolated if you have the hopper's power off during charging.

well that puts li-poly batteries out for on-board rechargables... but u could still just take it out and recharge it and stick it back in.....

ooo just imagine how long a rotor would last on a lithium polymer battery....
and i could probly make one too
